Our stories our inner safaris

A very warm welcome everyone.
Back in the day ---as a lone seeker navigating the landscape of tightly guarded religious and cultural belief systems that existed and still do to some extent to date ,I found refuge from outgroup bias -in my companions -Spiritual texts from various traditions and religions around the world.
I found inspiration and some important awakening pearls from these texts - It was not easy finding a mentor as it is the case today with just a touch of a button.
Sounds familiar?

.....and the list continues.
In most ,if not , all the writings , I resonated with the common themes of a Power greater than our individual selves .A presence, a grace , that is caring, loving, supportive , present at all times and that in Truth we are all ONE despite our seemingly separate selves, among other themes. Other themes ,like we are more than how we perceive ourselves and others, I came to grasp their deeper meanings with time.
From most of these writings, there was a core theme also of FORGIVENESS. Most of us can attest to the fact that it is easier said than felt when it comes to forgiving those who we think have hurt us deeply in various ways. I found very helpful tools in forgiveness from a self study, spiritual text called A COURSE IN MIRACLES.(ACIM)

Through this text I was able to gain a deeper understanding of what forgiveness truly is - and one of it is Seeing the Face of Christ, the TRUTH, in all our brothers ( all sisters& brothers=everyone )
A man I deeply admire for his devotion to humanity and touched millions through his work and inspirational writings, Jerry Jampolsky, described forgiveness in such a way that Oprah had this to say..... "After 25 years and more than 30,000 guests, it was one man's definition of forgiveness that changed my life."

EMBRACING ACIM
A Contemplative practice like ACIM can be a profound journey into the depths of one's mind.
For me it took what feels like a century to realize that I was basically operating from my mind's default, autopilot of the seeker mode , for something 'OUT' there to complete some kind of lack within.
[see this article I wrote for a US based ACIM publication , the Miracles E- ZINE in 2003.]
Yes , I have been a Course Student since the late 90's.Thankfully , I am realizing that it is only in practicing and walking the talk that will get me to the home, that in truth, I never left.
I am still work in progress , only this time I am aware that total commitment and dedication to my practice as offered is what will have me achieve my goal. Thankfully the deep cleansing that started over two decades ago is bearing fruits.
“Miracles are everyone’s right, but purification is necessary first.”
